Kamel Ghribi embarked upon a whirlwind tour of Syria with an expert delegation of doctors, economic advisors and engineers. His first meeting was with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani to discuss how GKSD-GSD’s expertise in Energy, Infrastructure and Healthcare together with other international players can support Syria in the delicate and complex task of rebuilding the country from the devastation of War. The Chairman then had a fruitful meeting with the Hon. Minister of Health Musaab Nazzal al-Ali to explore the best avenues of funding, investing and rebuilding the national healthcare system, before returning to conclude business in Milan, where he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting ongoing reconstruction efforts in Syria. The Chairman further explained that GKSD’s desire to help reflects and is aligned with Europe’s plan to partner with Syria in fostering a stable, peaceful, and secure environment for the entire region. Private sector involvement will also be crucial to achieving specific objectives within this partnership.
